Charles Aznavour Square, Armenia
| The famous Abovyan street has many attractions including shops, bars, discos, and Cinema Moscow right across Hotel Yerevan (current Hotel Golden Tulip), which was and is a very beautiful hotel, both located at Charles Aznavour Square, recently renamed to honor the famous Armenian French singer. Abovyan Street was paved by concrete blocks, traffic was very light (to a point that one could literally stand in the middle of the street without causing any problem). As I took this panorama on December 24, 2000, the streets were generally empty all around, including Abovyan, since then things have changed dramatically, to the better. |
