| The year 2000, Armenia welcomed around 50,000 visitors, hotels were few,
restaurants and coffee shops were enough, the cost was low, traffic was
non existent, Northern Avenue was only on the drawing boards, shops were
few and far between, 500 AMD equaled one U.S. Dollar.
In the year 2007 more than half a million tourists have visited Armenia,
there are plenty of hotels, restaurants and coffee shops, the cost is
higher, there is traffic everywhere, Northern Avenue has been built with
many tall buildings, there are plenty of stores for shopping, and one
U.S. Dollar equals 300 AMD (2008). |
